LostInTranslation

I'm on a voyage of self-discovery, but I seem to be going round in circles - could you give me some directions?

Did you know...

Little bit silly, little bit obvious, but, did you know, you can't lick your own elbow? And you've certainly no chance of sticking your elbow in your ear! However, some can touch their nose with their tongue, and some can stick their big toe in their mouth - if they so please.

So there you go.

八月ですね!

Happy first of August! Did you remember to say 'White rabbits' 3X? Me neither, never mind.

Time flies, eh? What the hell happened to July? Allow me to reflect on my achievements in July, hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, nada, nashi, diddly squat! Well, I managed to survive the month without going bankrupt... (that's quite a mean feat considering the state of my finances these days!)... killed my first cockroach (the little arsehole was in my apartment - I gave him the flip-flop)... managed to refrain from screaming 'are you bloody stupid?!' at my students (same mistakes, over and over and over and over...)... and, er, that'll be all then! Oh, wait, wait, I'm selling myself short, I also made my first monjayaki on Friday (kind of veggie-pancake-type-thingy)! Grand.

Well, guess I'd better get started on the autobiography...

Salt and vinegar crisps!

Salt and vinegar crisps are a very British phenomenon.

Loved by Brits, questioned by others.

They ain't too readily available in Japan.

Hence, I happily paid around 3 quid for the pleasure of devouring a wee imported bag of salt and vinegar crisps in a shady English pub this weekend.

First time in almost two years!

Yum.
